Ibaraki Prefecture named “Kijian” is new brand born in June 2010.
Our efforts have just begun to continue
and pass on this traditional claft and tapping to future generation.
Concept of Kijian
Each lacquerware piece is made carefully to have warmth and a homespun feeling. And we use our Daigo urushi to its fullest. We collect urushi sap and produce lacquerware with commitment to consistent production.
Build in 1896
Our shop in Daigo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture is an old store build in 1896, it is registered as a tangible cultural property as a regional landmark. It is a calm space suitable for decorating lacquerware.
How to maintain
It is fantastic to use lacquerware longtime. The best care is to use it every day. Wash by hand and rinse it with lukewarm water. Finally wipe with a cloth against drop or fuzz.
